I’ve heard a lot of noise
about God.
I’ve even made some.
How shocking
that His closest competitionWields no thunderbolts
But possibly rides them
A particle that may exist.
Still, ignorant but hopeful devotees pay rapt attention
As the high priestsOf physics
Pore over the entrails
Of freshly slaughtered protons
Looking for Higgsian clues
To the existence of all things,
Including me.

A particle of me wants to believe.

ReplyDeleteBy the way, if you want to know just how shocking it is, I believe it's 3.5 TeV (Tera electron Volts).
now for a little physics humor,(ok very little).
ReplyDeleteQ: What's the difference between God and the Higgs Boson?
A: The Higgs doesn't get any spin.
